The Crazy 4 and the Dentist

My kids have not loved getting medical attention of any kind.  A trip to the dentist had been particularly difficult.  We saw the same old “doc” for a few years.  Maybe he was just past his prime, or maybe he was just not ever that good.  One time we went in for a regular dental visit, and came away with problems with our teeth that did not exist before we went in.  Our frustration was getting pretty high.

When the oldest of the Crazy 4 need some cosmetic dental work, we decided to look around and see if we could find a different option.  We asked friends and neighbors if they had a dentist that was reasonably priced, was family friendly, and was competent to do cosmetic dental procedures.  After some time of study, we finally decided to try Dr. Braithwaite at Elite Dental in American Fork, Utah.  They had a nice page on cosmetic dentistry: https://www.americanforkdentistry.com/treatments/cosmetic-dentistry/. After reading about our options, we contacted the office and scheduled an appointment for a consultation. Dr. Braithwaite could not have been better to work with. He and his staff were really friendly, and made us feel comfortable and confident about our decision.

A few weeks later we took the leap and had the procedure done. We could not be happier. It turned out beautifully. My daughter has a new confidence as a result of her new smile. It was the best thing that we could have done for her.

I want to publicly thank Dr. Braithwaite. He has made a real difference for my family.

Stressed Out? Give These Tips A Try!

Stressed

There are a lot of different reasons people are stressed, work, money, love and kids are just some of them. Of course, some sources of stress are simply unavoidable. The world is a crazy place right now. The question is, how do you handle a major load of stress? Here is MyCrazy4’s advice to help you find the answer to those questions.

Try your best to manage how much stress you have in your life. Too much stress may lead to serious health problems like heart attacks, hypertension, stroke, ulcers, depression, insomnia and painful muscles aches. Adequate sleep will help reduce your stress levels and can even prevent you from developing any of these illnesses.

Having a full-body professional massage can help to reduce stress levels. It is very common for people to carry their stress as extremely tight muscles in the neck, jaw, shoulders and back. By getting a good massage, you will relax your muscles. This will make you feel more at ease overall, and that reduces stress.

Even a harmless pastime can be stressful when done to excess. If you’re playing video games when you should be working on getting your stress under control, you might end up with more stress when things don’t get done. This time could be better spent sleeping or eating healthy meals.

Try to figure out what is causing your stress, and then figure out how you can remove whatever it is from your life. For example, if one of your friends is always creating unneeded stress in your life, you should probably end the friendship. You can change your health and attitude when you get rid of different sources of stress from your life.

Identify what causes stress in your life, so that you can make progress toward solving it. If you can easily remove the source of stress from your life, then don’t hesitate to do so. Your mood will improve as soon as you do!

Alcohol should not be the answer after a stressful day. Turning to prescription drugs or alcohol during times of stress is asking for serious trouble. Regular alcohol consumption can become a habit that leads to addiction and alcoholism.

Many things cause stress, and you can’t avoid everything. By using the advice you were just given, you will learn different ways to deal with stress so you can be happy and relaxed.

How I organize school work

Here’s how I organize the boys school work for the week. I use 2 pocket folders nothing fancy.
I use the same color for each day for both kids, its easier to grab same colors in a hurry. (not that I’m ever in a hurry).I write the kids names in the bottom corner of each folder.

On the inside To Do: on left side Completed on the right. The boys can open it up see what needs to be done, once done they move it to the other side. This prevents “am I done?”, “how much more?”….
I store all the folders in a tub, each child has their own. If there are books that we are going to read they go in here. Also any other things we are going to need for the week.
I store the workbooks, books, supplies in these storage drawers. Each child has 2, thats 6 drawers each. Labeled as Math, Language Arts,Phonics, Science, History, and Handwriting. I still have things to put away this past week we got Science & History so all thats on top and in between~ the mess!
I always get their stuff ready on Sunday for the week. So there thats how I do it.

Are your children too young for PG-13 movies?

Scott & I went to see this Transformers Dark of the Moon on Saturday. I really don’t care for movies like this but it was pretty good. Anyways there were a pretty good amount of children in the theater. Even under the age of 13. Although its PG-13 some parents think its ok to take their 5,6,7 year olds. I personally think it should be rated R. The little boy sitting behind us was no older 6, he was crying at one point. I even mentioned to Scott I can see a Dad taking his child to these types of movies, but a Mother!

This child should have been watching Winnie the Pooh.

Parents are suppose to protect their children. Not expose them to violence.

I don’t understand it at all.

I think It’s pretty clear why this movie is NOT for children….
“Transformers : Dark of the Moon” is rated PG 13 because of ‘intense prolonged sequences of sci-fi action violence , mayhem and destruction , and for language , somesexuality and innuendo’

Would you allow your children to watch this?

~GROWN UP, ADULT MOVIES are for GROWN UPS and ADULTS.

You’re children are growing up fast enough why expose them to the violence at such an early age?

What part of that don’t parents understand.

Don’t wonder why little Johnny is being so violent after taking him to see this.

When they turn 7,8,9 are they going to be allowed to watch rated R? age 12,13 rated X? When will they be allowed to drink, have alcohol?
